Raleigh_ Don't ask
how I got started with this idea. OK, you win. Some friends,
who don't care about football, but who have kids, made a connection
between Tinky Winky and the EZU fans who wear purple.
As we were talking it up and
saying "tinky winky" over and over, it got the best of
us. Then someone remembered what Jerry Falwell said
about Tinky Winky being gay. Well, he does carry a red bag (or
purse). You be the judge.
Webster's New World Dictionary
lists 5 definitions for gay: 1. lighthearted, 2. bright, 3. given to
pleasures, 4. wanton, and 5. homosexual. Looking at this tailgater
you wonder which ones apply.
Nonetheless, we will have
thousands of these purple people converging on Chapel Hill this
Saturday. It's been 20 years since we had to put up with such a
sight. Hey Carolina fans, better watch your backs.
