Fractured thumb is repaired

Chapel Hill__  Here's the official word....

"Darian's surgery went well and he's doing fine," Dr. Tim Taft said. "The fragment of bone that was pulled off the extensor tendon was reattached and we expect an excellent recovery."

Durant is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

The sad news is that it happened.  The good news is that Slinger will be back again to take the field for Carolina, next year if not sooner.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Darian.  Take a well deserved rest and heal well.  OK, ya still gotta pump up your teammates! So don't slack off too much!

Wrist fractured at UVA

And the beat goes on.  Or is it, when it rains, it pours?  Will Chapman will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a scaphoid fracture in his right wrist.

Will, you are a true warrior in the truest sense of the word.  Take a rest this weekend and see how it goes.  We hear that you may recover to the point of seeing action again soon.  Heal well, Tar Heel.

I, for one, certainly hope you do!  And hope to see you take the field yet again this season.

Go Heels!
