Raleigh _ Wow, at the start of the game I thought UCLA would never
miss. What a run that doubled the score on the Heels 24-12! But Carolina made a run of their own in a
fast paced game to end the half down 1.
Playing at the furious
pace doesn't seem to be Carolina's strong suit. With 17 turnovers, the Heels need to find a way to protect the
ball. To make a run in the ACC and NCAA tournaments,
better ball control is a must.
Let's do some
math. UCLA got at least 27 points off turnovers. If
the Heels had half their turnovers, they could have won today
by 9 or 10 points.
A hat tip to Jason
Capel for 21 points on 7 for 12 from the field. The Heels
showed some hustle today getting 10 steals. But for a big team,
they were out-rebounded 30 - 38. The Bruins had 19
offensive boards. Who isn't blocking out?
